L&rsquo;objectif des 10 000 pas ne provient d&rsquo;aucune recherche m\u00e9dicale. Il est n\u00e9 au Japon en 1965, quand l&rsquo;entreprise Yamasa a lanc\u00e9 un podom\u00e8tre baptis\u00e9 \u00ab Manpo-kei \u00bb, litt\u00e9ralement \u00ab compteur de 10 000 pas \u00bb. R\u00e9sultat : la mortalit\u00e9 diminuait d\u00e8s 4 400 pas par jour par rapport aux moins actives, et les b\u00e9n\u00e9fices plafonnaient autour de 7 500 pas. Pas de magie \u00e0 10 000.<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" data-sourcepos=\"24:1-24:357;2048-2404\">En 2022, une vaste m\u00e9ta-analyse publi\u00e9e dans <em>The Lancet Public Health<\/em> (Paluch et coll.), portant sur pr\u00e8s de 47 000 adultes, a confirm\u00e9 la tendance : le nombre de pas optimal pour la sant\u00e9 se situe entre 6 000 et 8 000 pas pour les plus de 60 ans, et entre 8 000 et 10 000 pas pour les moins de 60 ans. Au-del\u00e0, les b\u00e9n\u00e9fices suppl\u00e9mentaires s&rsquo;estompent.<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" data-sourcepos=\"26:1-26:378;2406-2783\">Quant \u00e0 l&rsquo;<a class=\"underline underline underline-offset-2 decoration-1 decoration-current\/40 hover:decoration-current focus:decoration-current\" href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/fr\/news-room\/fact-sheets\/detail\/physical-activity\">Organisation mondiale de la sant\u00e9<\/a>, elle ne parle pas de pas mais de dur\u00e9e : 150 \u00e0 300 minutes d&rsquo;activit\u00e9 physique mod\u00e9r\u00e9e par semaine pour les adultes, compl\u00e9t\u00e9es par du renforcement musculaire deux fois par semaine. Converti en pas, cela correspond grosso modo \u00e0 7 000 ou 8 000 pas quotidiens.<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" data-sourcepos=\"28:1-28:140;2785-2924\">La conclusion est rassurante : il n&rsquo;y a pas de seuil magique.
